The auDA Foundation Board have just announced the outcomes of the 2012 Funding Round.  This year 12 projects were awarded a total of $371,431 and include the funding of two 3 year PhD scholarships.  2012 is the 6th funding round and the Foundation has now funded 84 projects totalling $1,657,769.

The auDA Foundation received an unprecedented number of applications this year and the Board was impressed by the very high quality of the submissions.

“We were delighted by the number of applications we received, many of which were exemplary,” auDA CEO Chris Disspain said. “We feel that funding these initiatives could significantly improve the lives of many Australians through their creative use of the Internet.”

The projects that are being funded this year include examining the use of Twitter by the courts, the creation of an online Community of Practice for nurse educators, an interactive interface to enable Indigenous communities to access and use three dimensional models of Australian landscapes and determining the preferred forms of service delivery for young people at risk of suicide and self-harm.
