Private registration services for .au domain names

Posted by on 11 September 2013

Under auDA’s WHOIS Policy (2010-06) and Registrant Contact Information Policy (2010-07), it is not permissible for registrants of .au domain names to hide their personal information on WHOIS through use of private or proxy registration services.

Consumers should be wary of service offerings that purport to hide their personal information on WHOIS, and should ensure that they have read carefully the terms and conditions of the service offering before they proceed to purchase.

If you have purchased a private or proxy registration service in the belief that your personal information would not be disclosed on WHOIS, we advise you to contact your provider for clarification of the service offering.
