2013 Australia and New Zealand Internet Award Winners Announced

The Australia and New Zealand Internet Awards (ANZIAs) recognise excellence in the use of the Internet by businesses, organisations and individuals. The fifth annual ANZIAs were presented last night at a gala presentation, held at Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington.

Comedian Ben Hurley was master of ceremonies and New Zealand’s leading media commentator and owner of the Public Address community of blogs Russell Brown delivered the keynote speech.

The ANZIAs are a collaboration between auDA and InternetNZ and recognise outstanding achievement in five categories: Diversity; Information; Innovation; Internet Access & Digital Skills; and Security & Privacy.

auDA CEO Chris Disspain said  “The ANZIAs have established a positive tradition of recognising the achievements of Australians and New Zealanders who use the Internet to benefit the community in innovative ways.”

The 2013 ANZIA Winners and highly commended entrants are:

Highly Commended: The Centre for Advancing Journalism, University of Melbourne

Diversity: Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association   
Highly Commended: Cultural Infusion


Innovation: CSIRO and The National Museum of Australia
Highly Commended: Infoxchange
