2016 ANZIA Winners: The Real Showstoppers

Posted by Helen Hollins on 30 August 2016

‘We Will Rock You’ may have only recently opened their doors upstairs at the Regent Theatre, but the Australia & New Zealand Internet Awards (ANZIAs) was what really rocked in Melbourne tonight.  Another successful evening, hosted by auDA (.au Domain Administration Ltd), celebrating the achievements of the ANZIA winners and setting new benchmarks for the Internet industry.

The ANZIAs are a collaborative effort between auDA and InternetNZ. The awards aim to commend those individuals and organisations that have made a positive contribution to the accessibility, security and innovation of the Internet, making it an even more valued space for all users. The night of the ANZIA Gala is always an opportunity to connect with community members who have a genuine interest in the continued development and maintained security of the Internet.

Cameron Boardman, the newly appointed CEO of auDA commented, “as my first ANZIA event as CEO, I was struck by the incredible atmosphere and genuine excitement of the community to celebrate such valuable contributions from our finalists. It is encouraging to see such diversity and innovation across the wider tech sector. auDA is particularly proud of the success of four Australian applicants, who took home ANZIA trophies this year.”

InternetNZ's Chief Executive Jordan Carter was also thrilled with the calibre of this year’s finalists.

"All of the finalists are testament to the innovative work happening on the Internet. I am particularly proud of the New Zealand winners – shining a light on some of the best Internet based products in Australasia," says Carter.
