auDA Foundation 2014 Funding Round Opening Soon

Posted by on 24 July 2014

We will be accepting applications for grants in the 2014 funding round from Monday 4 August.

The auDA Foundation aims to promote and encourage education and research activities that will enhance the use of the Internet for the benefit of the Australian community. We do this by offering grants in the range of $5,000 - $25,000 to not-for-profit organisations, research institutions, as well as PhD scholarships. This year we would particularly like to encourage organisations or institutions wishing to pursue co-funded grant applications to apply.

In 2013, we funded a diverse range of projects including:
Cool Little Kids Online – a collaborative project by La Trobe University and Macquarie University to develop an online version of a parenting program to prevent anxiety problems in preschool aged children.

Online News and Older Australians – a University of the Sunshine Coast research project to investigate older Australians' views on the presentation and distribution of news online.

Dataset on Internet use in Australia - PhD scholarship on Internet usage data of local government areas for Australia.

Additionally, some of the projects we funded have gone on to be shortlisted as finalists for the 2014 ANZIAs (Australian & New Zealand Internet Awards). Namely, The Song Room’s ARTS:LIVE, Australian Prostate Cancer Research’s PROSTMATE, Deaf Services Queensland and the Deaf Society of NSW.

Applications for an auDA Foundation grant need to be submitted by 5:00pm AEST on Monday 8 September.
