auDA’s Competition Model Advisory Panel, Name Policy Advisory Panel, and Dispute Resolution Working Group have each released public consultation reports.

  • In its second public consultation report, the Competition Model Advisory Panel has refined its proposals for a model for competition in the provision of domain name services, and invites further public comment ahead of making its final recommendations to the auDA Board in June 2001.
  • The Name Policy Advisory Panel has released a Public Discussion Paper on new 2LDs in the Australian DNS, to canvas public opinion about the way in which the 2LD structure of the .au domain might be changed to meet user needs.
  • A Proposed .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP) and Rules, based on ICANN’s Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), have been produced by the Dispute Resolution Working Group. It is also open for public comment.

"auDA welcomes these reports and strongly encourages everyone with an interest in domain names in Australia to read the reports and make a submission," said auDA CEO, Chris Disspain.

"This is an ideal opportunity for everyone to have their say about the future shape of the .au domain space and how it should be should be managed."

The closing date for public submissions for all three reports is Friday 8 June 2001.

The reports are available on the auDA web site at http://www.auda.org.au or phone 03 9226 9495.
