On 5 November 2001 auDA released a Request for Expressions of Interest for registrars to participate in the test-bed with the new registry operator, AusRegistry. The closing date for EOIs was 19 November 2001.

The following organisations have been selected as test-bed Registrars:

  • Capital Networks Pty Ltd
  • Connect West Pty Ltd
  • Host 1 Pty Ltd
  • Melbourne IT Ltd
  • Rare-Domains Pty Ltd
  • Two Purple Plums Pty Ltd (TPP Internet)

The registrars for edu.au and gov.au will also participate in the test-bed. The test-bed is expected to commence in February 2002.

Organisations that have not been selected to participate in the test-bed have been Provisionally Accredited. This means that, subject to successfully completing the Registry/Registrar Interface Test, they will be fully accredited to become operational when the new system goes live.
