.au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA) is proud to announce its support for Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand from 27 January to 5 February.

Sir Tim is widely known as the inventor of the World Wide Web (WWW) and is a passionate advocate for an open and accessible Internet.

Currently, he is director of the WWW Consortium (W3C) and works as a senior researcher at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, holding its Founders Chair. In 2009, he founded the WWW Foundation to “advance the Web to empower humanity by launching transformative programs that build local capacity to leverage the Web as a medium for positive change.”

This trans-Tasman tour marks his first visit in over 15 years.

In addition to supporting his tour, auDA will also host an invitation-only “Q&A” event with Sir Tim in Melbourne on 4 February, moderated by journalist and broadcaster Alan Kohler.
