New Board Director Announcement

Posted by Stuart Benjamin on 27 February 2017

On behalf of the Board of .au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA), I’m pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board Director.

After a thorough interview process undertaken by an independent executive search firm, we would like to welcome Gavin Gibson, Dreamscape Networks and Crazy Domains - Chief Operations Officer and Executive - as a new Supply Class Board Director. Mr Gibson will replace Kartic Srinivasan who resigned his position on the Board, after taking a role outside of the Domain Name industry.

“As Chair, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kartic for his commitment and support as a valued member of the auDA Board. Over his extensive time within the industry, Kartic has made a considerable contribution to where auDA is today and the sector as a whole, and we wish him well in the next phase of his career.”

Gavin Gibson, who takes up the role with immediate effect, has more than 15 years of IT sector experience. He comes from a strong technical background, operating as the CTO for a number of IT companies prior to joining Dreamscape Networks. Gavin has been involved with Dreamscape and its subsidiary projects since inception and, over the last eighteen months, has been heavily engaged in preparing the company for its recent listing on the ASX. As Chief Operations Officer, Gavin assumed responsibility for daily operations including HR, finance and marketing.

“Gavin has in-depth domain industry knowledge, experience within a regulatory environment and a thorough appreciation of the risk and corporate governance core to the role as an auDA Board Director.”

“As auDA continues in positioning the organisation as leading Australia’s digital community, this requires us to create trusted experiences for all Australians. The breadth of experience Mr Gibson will bring to the Board is invaluable in helping drive that strategic direction," Mr Benjamin said.

The Hon. Tony Staley AO has retired from the auDA Board and, the process to appoint a replacement is underway. Further announcements will be made soon.
