Notification Of Board Member Resignation And Board Recruitment Update

Posted by auDA on 20 April 2018

auDA advises that it has received notice from Ms Nicole Murdoch tendering her resignation as a Demand Class Director from the auDA Board.

The Board would like to thank Nicole for her service since her election in November 2017.

A recruitment process is already underway to replenish vacant Board roles, and Nicole’s role will be filled as part of this process.

At the close of applications last Tuesday (17 April), auDA had received 29 applications from candidates with exceptional credentials for the advertised vacancies.

The quality and volume of candidates has impressed the Governance Committee of the Board, especially the diversity of applicants who applied either directly to auDA, through the Australian Institute of Company Directors or through other channels such as Women On Boards.

The Governance Committee has begun shortlisting the applicants, and an initial list of six candidates have been recommended for interview. Among these six are a number of current auDA demand class members, as well as candidates with significant domain name and technology industry experience in addition to experienced company directors.

This is particularly important and relevant given the findings of the Federal Government Review of the .au Domain Administration, which noted the need for auDA Board members to be suitably qualified and sufficiently representative of the industry and its stakeholders.

The Governance Committee has begun the interview process and announcements of appointments, subject to appropriate probity checks, will be made in due course.

auDA would like to thank all applicants for their interest.
