Dear auDA Members and stakeholders, As flagged in our email last week, the Consultation Model Working Group (CMWG) can now confirm that a new members’ workshop – open to members and other interested stakeholders – will take place in Melbourne on 6 August 2018. As you are likely aware, the CMWG has been working hard to try and develop a new membership model that satisfies: - the federal government’s requirements;
- auDA’s obligations under the Corporations Act;
- auDA’s board and, of course;
- auDA’s members.
The members workshop we held in Melbourne and online on 2 July was an incredibly helpful part of the process. As a result of this meeting we were able to recommend to the auDA board the outline of a model. While the last meeting we held was very helpful and constructive, it did not receive the broad attendance we were hoping for. We are aware the notice of one week may have been a contributing factor here. This is why we are pleased that this new event – with three weeks notice from our email last week – is now going to take place. We have once again brought in the facilitating services of ThinkPlace, whose work was universally praised following the first meeting. This time, the workshop will also be attended by representatives of auDA management and auDA’s board. Let us know if you can attendFurther details of the meeting’s agenda will follow but, at this point, it would be tremendously useful if you were able to register your interest in attending – either in Melbourne or online – by replying to this email. If you wish to attend, please reply and indicate what city you are based in, and whether you will be looking to attend in person. Very best, The Consultation Model Working Group
