About the auDA Board

The auDA Board is constituted as per Section 5 of the auDA Constitution. The Board is made up of six (6) directors appointed by the Nomination Committee and four (4) directors, approved by the Nomination Committee and elected by the Associate Members.

Alan Cameron

Term:  November 2019 - Annual General Meeting 2022

Alan Cameron graduated in Arts (BA) and Law (LLM) from the University of Sydney. He worked for the NSW Aboriginal Legal Service, and taught law in Indonesia, before returning to private corporate law practice. After serving as Commonwealth Ombudsman, and chairman of ASIC, he has been a consultant and company director. He is chairman of the NSW Law Reform Commission and of the Property Exchange Australia Limited group, the electronic hub for the settlement of land transactions. He was Deputy Chancellor of the University of Sydney and is an Officer in the Order of Australia.

James Atkins is an experienced chairman and non-executive director with over 20 years’ experience in the property, financial services, franchising, tourism, health, arts and environmental sectors. In addition to his role on the .au Domain Administration Board, James is the Chair of BIG4 Holiday Parks and Greening Australia, and a non-executive director of the Connective Group, and Circus Oz. James has 35 years’ experience as a business strategist and senior executive in highly competitive markets, including financial services, retail and energy. He has delivered organisational growth and profitability through the development and introduction of new brands, products, services, channels and programs, and people-centred leadership. He is currently the principal of Vantage Strategy, a boutique consultancy, that works with a wide range of organisations helping them clarify their strategy and implement change so that they can grow.

 Dr. Kate Cornick

Kate is the CEO of LaunchVic, the Victorian Government’s start-up agency, and has considerable experience in technological innovation across start-ups, academia, corporates and government. An experienced non-executive director, Kate is currently a member of Charles Sturt University Council. Prior to her current roles, Kate led the development of a human resources technology start-up through a listing on the ASX. She held the position of Senior Telecommunications Adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and has also worked as a General Manager at NBN Co. Kate Cornick undertook her PhD in optical telecommunications at the University of Melbourne.

Sandy is a product coach with Product Space. She coaches people, teams, and leaders in agile and new ways of working and in optimising how organisations bring their digital products to market. She joined the Board of CHOICE in 2012 and was elected Chair in 2017. Sandy chairs CHOICE’s Governance Committee, Investment Committee, and Commercial Sustainability Committee. Her past roles have included a two-year stint chairing the rebirth of Australia’s Internet governance community, NetThing (previously auIGF), serving as Director and Chair of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA), and as an inaugural Director of the Australian Domain Name Authority (auDA).

Peter is an Australian internet veteran and passionate internet advocate having “built the internet in Australia” in 1989 as employee #2 at the Australian Academic and Research Network (AARNet). From 1993-2013 he held a variety of technical and senior management roles at Cisco, before re-joining AARNet in 2014 as Director, Government Relations and eResearch a position he held until 2019. In addition to serving on the board of auDA, Peter is currently a member of the Regional Development Australia (RDA) ACT committee and President of the Gungahlin Community Council.

Tania has over 20 years’ experience in technology, telecommunications and law. Before becoming a professional independent non-executive director, Tania was an executive at Telstra. Prior to Telstra, Tania was a lawyer at Allens Linklaters (formerly Arthur Robinson & Hedderwicks), specialising in technology and intellectual property. Tania is also a Non-Executive Director on the boards of City West Water, Grey Innovation Group and Potential(x), and on the State Committee JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

Angelo has been directly involved in the domain name industry for over 12 years with experience in registrar accreditations and operations, registry functions, policy implementation and registrant support. Alongside his non-executive Director position at the .au Domain Administration, Angelo is also the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of VentraIP Australia, Synergy Wholesale and Zuver, making it the largest privately owned auDA accredited registrar group. Utilising his breadth of industry knowledge and experience to represent the best interests of all auDA stakeholders, Angelo is focused on delivering outcomes that benefit all community interests and the Australian digital economy.

Matthew Healy

Matt has over 25 years’ experience in technology, communications, regulation and law.  He has held numerous board positions on industry and member-based organisations including CommsAlliance Ltd, Competitive Carriers Coalition Ltd and OzHub Ltd. Matt has also held executive positions at Macquarie Telecom Group and leadership roles at the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, United Energy and the airline sector.  He is currently a Non-Executive Director and Trustee of the McClelland Gallery + Sculpture Park, Board Member of The Macfarlane Fund and Principal of Healy Advisory.

Jacqueline Korhonen

Jacqueline has over 30 years’ experience in the Information Technology, Telecommunications and Financial Services sectors, where she has built her career around the application of new technologies, P&L management, complex negotiations, project delivery, operations, strategy development and risk management.

She started her career as an engineer in IBM where she spent 23 years living and working across Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, India and China.

After leaving IBM, Jacqueline was appointed CEO of Infosys Australia and New Zealand, a position she held for six years. In the final years of her executive career Jacqueline was the CEO of SMS Management &Technologies, an ASX listed IT Services company and subsequently returned to IBM as the Vice President of Cognitive Transformation Services across the Asia Pacific Region.

Jacqueline is now a non-executive director (NED) and board advisor. She was a NED of NetComm Wireless (ASX: NTC) until 2019. In addition to her role as an elected Independent NED of auDA, she is currently an Independent NED of MLC Insurance.

In addition, Jacqueline serves on the Advisory Board of the NSW Government Data and Analytics Centre, is Chair of International House Council, a residential college of Sydney University and is a Board member of Chief Executive Women. 

Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours    from the University of Sydney and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 Alice McCleary

Alice is a Chartered Accountant and has been a professional company director for over 20 years.  She was a corporate tax partner at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), was seconded to the Ralph Review of Business Taxes in the late 1990s and was the first female president of the Taxation Institute of Australia.  Her directorship career covers ASX companies, NFPs, industry associations and government bodies.  She was Deputy Chancellor of the University of South Australia and represented Australia for several years on the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants, based in New York.  She was a founding director of National ICT Australia Limited (NICTA), a research body funded by state and federal governments to improve the reach and quality of Australia’s IT research.  NICTA has now been incorporated into CSIRO.  Alice’s professional interests include strategic thinking, stakeholder reporting, ethical business practice and improving governance processes.

auDA Director remuneration schedule

Effective 14 November 2019

Aggregate remuneration for Directors (including the Chair) is capped at $580,000 per annum.

This currently allocated as follows:
