auDA accredits first registrar under new regime

Melbourne, 13 June 2002 - Sydney-based Enetica Pty Ltd is the first company to be fully accredited by auDA as a domain name registrar under the new regime.

Enetica will be ready to commence operations when the new regime goes live on 1 July 2002.

"auDA congratulates Enetica on being the first registrar to successfully complete the interface test using the new EPP Version 6 software," said auDA CEO, Chris Disspain.

The test is designed to ensure that registrars are able to use AusRegistry's technical interface to process domain name registrations on behalf of registrants. The test also ensures that registrars can correctly apply auDA's domain name policy rules when deciding whether a registrant is eligible to license a domain name.

Nine other provisionally accredited registrars are in the process of undertaking the interface test. auDA anticipates that the majority will be fully accredited by the go live date.
