Melbourne, 29 January 2002 – auDA has today assumed technical and administrative responsibility for the org.au and id.au second level domains, from former .au delegate Mr Robert Elz.

“On behalf of the Australian Internet community, auDA would like to acknowledge Mr Elz for providing service in these domains on a purely voluntary basis for more than 15 years,” said auDA CEO, Chris Disspain.

org.au services
From today, all domain name registration and re-delegation services in org.au are being managed by auDA, using the existing AUNIC system, as an interim measure until the new AusRegistry system becomes operational later this year.

  • Re-delegation requests that were submitted before 26 January 2002 and have not been actioned, should be resubmitted using the form at http://www.aunic.net/dd.html
  • Registration applications do not need to be resubmitted. auDA is currently working through the backlog of pending applications and will be in touch with all applicants as soon as possible.
